As James spends a percentage of his year in these type of homes and really enjoys
seeing the elderly enjoying songs from yesteryear, he treats them differently from
secular concerts, even though he does some of his stage show in some of the homes.
It is not possible to use the same T & C as above, but it is felt that some are
needed as below.
All concert bookings are made in good faith and once a booking is made it is a binding
contract between James Owen and the home that made that booking, even if that booking
is made by telephone. There are many occasions where a deposit will be required
to confirm a booking at least one (1) month in advance. The deposit will be sixty
(60) percent of the agreed fee. The deposit must be made and funds cleared by twenty
eight (28) days before the concert, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Here is a guide to Fees for a One Hour Concert. Fees are calculated on distance
from Christchurch, Dorset. Local concerts are £55 and that’s up 25 miles. Between
25 miles and 100 miles, for every 10 miles add £5 - ie. 45 miles would be £65. Over
100 miles there are set fees and these are available on request. Fees for weekends
and bank holidays are higher.
With regards to cancellation, James Owen is a professional singer who relies on the
sole income received from singing and therefore if a home cancels a concert within
one week of the agreed date, a portion of the fee may be charged and if a home cancels
within twenty four hours the full agreed fee may be charged. Otherwise all arrangements
will be subject to mutual agreement.
Secular Concerts
No two concert venues are the same and no two clients are the same, so James will
discuss the fee for each according to their needs and requests. However, as a guide,
a ninety minute concert is £295 plus all expenses.
All concert bookings are made in good faith and once a booking is made it is a binding
contract between James Owen and the agent or venue that made that booking. The booking
will be confirmed in writing (possible email) showing the Venue, The Date, The Start
Time, The Finish Time, The Style, The Fee and The Rider.
For all concerts an agreed deposit (usually 50%) is to be paid within Two (2) weeks
of that booking and the balance must be paid Six (6) weeks before the event. If
the presented cheque for the balance does not clear, that cheque will only be represented
once more. If it does not clear on the second time then cash will be required and
if this is not made available Twenty Nine days before the event the booking will
become null and void and cancelled.
In all cases, if a booking is cancelled Thirty (30) days or more before the agreed
date then no fee will be due. If a booking is cancelled less than Thirty (30) days
before the agreed date then a fee, as shown below, may be charged.
With regards to The Rider and The Style; The Rider will be dependent on the size
of the venue and where it is in the country (or overseas), but will only contain
requirements on a personal level such as food, drink needs etc, not special colours
and lighting in the dressing room! The style will be completely what the client
wants and can be Soft & Gentle, The 40’s, The 50’s & 60’s, The music of The Rat Pack
etc.
Twenty Eight (28) days before event - 25% of the agreed fee | Twenty One (21) days before event - 50% of the agreed fee | Fourteen (14) days before event - 75% of the agreed fee | Seven (7) days or less before event - Full Agreed Fee
Day Centres, Residential and Nursing Homes -Summer Garden Parties, Fates etc.
Garden Parties, fates and other similar events are charged at £85 (£95 at weekends)
for one hour, plus £50 for a second hour or part of an hour.
If however, you only have a small garden, you are reasonably local to Christchurch
and you’re sure you only want James to sing for one hour and then leave, please call
and we will discuss it.
